A fire that is believed to have started from burning trash spread to an old car on the John Hammer property at 2100 Lake Shore Road off Lake Centralia early Friday morning.
The Salem Fire Protection District reports the car along with some nearby trash was engulfed in flames. The fire was initially reported as a structure fire, but the only structure was a considerable distance away.
There were no injuries.
