Those stealing copper in Centralia blamed for gas leak

Those stealing copper from a vacant house in Centralia are blamed for natural gas spewing into the air Wednesday morning.

Centralia City Firemen say the copper was being stolen from a home at 1302 South Hickory.

Firemen stood by until Ameren crews arrived.

Fire Chief Jeff Day say there were no issues that developed as a result of the leak.
