The Salem Wildcats soccer team is in action at home in their final regular season game trying to add to the school record of wins when they host the Green Wave of Mattoon. Salem enters at 16-2-and-1 on the season. After today, they will open Class 2a Regional play at home on Friday with a matchup against Olney. That will be a 3:30 kickoff from FCC Field.
Yesterday in soccer action, Alton and Highland tied at 1, Belleville West shutout Granite City 6-0, Marion over Carterville 4-0 and Normal beat Mahomet Seymour 5-1.
The 1a soccer regionals open this afternoon. Altamont hosts Robinson, Carlyle is at Breese Central, Arthur plays at St Anthony, Wood River hosts Piasa and Vandalia is at Pana.
