Odin School Superintendent Belinda Kirgan has announced her retirement at the end of the current school year.   She has been Superintendent at Odin the past three years and has worked in education for 36 years.  She spent 17 of those years as a teacher at Centralia High School and 10 years as a faculty member and clinical supervisor for student teachers at SIU-Carbondale.   Kirgan says retiring was a very hard decision to make because she works with great people.

The board will apply for a $50,000 state matching maintenance grant that would be used to replace the roof over the stage and part of the gym.

Bo Thomas with Glass and Shuffet presented the annual audit.  The district saw its financial profile score improve from 3.35 to 3.7.  The district now has 132 days of cash on hand.

In personnel news, the board hired Ian Barbee as Senior Trip Sponsor and Ranayie Timmons as prom coordinator.
