The Salem City Council has given the final go-ahead for the sale of the former Save-a-Lot building that will be the future side of a business that will sell and service drones for the agriculture industry.
Chad Eagan who runs CEPT Properties and Air Apply LLC wants to move quickly.
“We’ll be replacing the roof, doing some upgrades to the interior, upgrades to the exterior. We’ll hopefully have some kind of a workable facility sometime after the first of the year.”
Eagan says when in full operation they will have two sales representatives, an office manager and repair technicians. The company has already started sales at the Flora Airport where their helicopter spray service is based.
The city will be paid $83,475 for the building and will receive up to $40,000 in tax increment financing district funds to pay for eligible project costs.
