New data from the U-S Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency shows how many convicted migrants are in this country.

Now, some Illinois Republicans are looking for more information on the impact on the state.

Capitol News Illinois reports the data show more than 660-thousand non-citizens with criminal histories are on ICE’s national docket.

But Illinois Senate Republicans say there’s no way of knowing the impact on Illinois due to state laws like the TRUST Act, which limit law enforcement interaction with ICE.

Republican Gov. Bruce Rauner signed the Trust Act into law in 2017.

Senate Republicans are sending letters to the U-S Secretary of Defense and the Illinois Attorney General to know how many of these non-citizens are in Illinois – and what impact that has on the state.

In a statement to Capitol News Illinois, a spokesman for Governor J-B Pritzker said – quote – “We’re not going to indulge these sort of racist attacks.”
