Amber Marcum, RN, a telemetry nurse at SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital – Centralia, was recently honored with the DAISY Award for extraordinary nursing.
Marcum’s nomination exemplified her eagerness to go above and beyond for patients. The nominating patient testified that after telling Marcum about living in an old house without insulation or air conditioning, Marcum and her uncle bought a new air conditioner and delivered it to the patient’s house.
“She did this out of the kindness of her heart,” the patient said. “She is a sweetheart, and I appreciate what she and her uncle did for me. I want to thank her with all my heart. God loves you.”
