Lyman Eugene Harrell Jr. passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, in the comfort of his home on Tuesday, September 23, 2025, at the age of 84 years.
Born in Kinmundy, IL the loving son of the late Lyman E. Harrell Sr. and Ruth Imogene (nee Sessions).
Lyman leaves behind his beloved wife Carolyn (nee Yates), two daughters, Denise Harrell of Blue Island, IL, and Mary French of Channahon, IL. He is the proud grandfather of Stephanie Shue, Sarah Golaszewski, and Emma Golaszewski, dear great-grandfather of Tajza, fond brother of Arline (Mike) Moore of Blacksburg, VA, and loving uncle of Jim and Dave.
Lyman was a distinguished Veteran of the U.S. Army, contributing to his country during the Vietnam War. He retired from Caterpillar, Joliet, after many rewarding years of service. He will be greatly missed by those who know and loved him.
To fulfill Lyman’s personal wishes, Cremation Rites have been accorded. There will be no public ceremony. The Committal Service will be held privately at Elder Cemetery in Kinmundy, Illinois. Arrangements entrusted to The Maple Funeral Home, Channahon.
