The Marion County Sheriff’s Department arrested a 48-year-old Salem man for aggravated battery after he allegedly kicked and struck a Salem woman in the head with a baseball bat late Saturday morning.

The sheriff’s department reports Michael Allison of Medlin Road is accused of committing the act against the alleged victim after she had woken up from a seizure.   The incident occurred at a home in the 2900 block of Ruble Lane in rural Salem around 11:30 Saturday morning.

The woman was taken to Salem Township Hospital for treatment.   Reports are unclear what had happened at the home before the woman reportedly had the seizure.

Allison was later arrested at his home and taken into custody without incident.
