The Marion County Sheriff’s Department has made an arrest in connection with a burglary and theft at a home in the 500 block of Gilliland Road in rural Walnut Hill earlier this week.
Sheriff Kevin Cripps said after questioning, 60-year-old Richard Atkinson of North DeWolfe Street in Odin was taken into custody.
The owner had returned Wednesday morning to find damage to a door to the home where entry was attempted. An outbuilding was reportedly entered and items taken from that building and the backyard of the residence.
