Junior High Sports Roundup: Franklin Park honors eighth graders

Junior High Baseball

Franklin Park honored their baseball 8th graders last night and then beat Casey Mount Vernon 16-0.  Owen Tennyson homered, Jax Schuabert drove in 3 runs along with Kai Graham, Zane Applegate doubled and drove in 2.  Graham was the winning pitcher with Rhett Starnes getting the final 3 outs.

Tripp Garden drove in 5 runs as Selmaville beat Trinity 13-3.  Jacob Butts added 4 RBI with 2 from Drew Consolino.  Isaac Knapp was the winning pitcher.

The SC Falcons beat Altamont Lutheran 8-4.  Aiden Hoover was the winning pitcher.  Smith and Knutt drove in 2 runs each for SC.

Patoka is 13-0 with their 19-0 win over Field.  Nolan Eddy drove in 5 runs, Dane Jolliff added 3 RBI.  Eddy was the complete game winner on the mound too.

Also in middle school baseball, Aviston 6-5 over Breese All Saints, Marion shutout Carbondale 17-0, Nashville over Chester 14-9.

Junior High Softball:

The Salem Lady Bobcats get a big 8th-grade night win over Casey 16-1. Adysen Pracht was fantastic on the mound striking out 3. At the plate Teagan Lobek and Max Maciejowski had 3 hits, Maci Susmena and Kenna Benjamin drove in 3 runs. Every Lady Cat batter got on base. We return to action tomorrow on the road at Olney.

Kenzie Collier threw a no-hitter with 17ks in Iuka Lady Pirates’ 16-4 win over Racoon.   She also had a homerun with 2 RBIs,  Ava Reed had a hit with a RBI, Elaina Dial 3 RBIs and Sophiah Santiago had 2 RBIs.   Centralia nipped Wesclin 13-12, Nashville 17-7 over Chester, and Summersville nipped Ewing 5-3.
