Joe Monical Jr., age 83 of Salem, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 12, 2025, at his daughter’s home in Salem.
Joe was born on August 7, 1942, in Salem, the son of Joseph Monical Sr. and Daisey Gilmore.
He is survived by four children, Allan Monical and wife Tracy of Belle Rive, Tracy Collier and husband Korey of Salem, Kelly Porter and husband Jeremy of Monterey, TN, and Kandy Taylor and husband Eric of Waterloo; daughter-in-law, Sharon Monical of O’Fallon, MO; one sister, Pat Montgomery of Alma; nine grandchildren, Adam Monical, Shelbi Paulson, Jared White, Kelsey Heinzmann, Cody Porter, Jake Porter, Conner Richerson, Rylan Richerson, and Maddison Taylor; and nine great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Steve Monical; and a grandson, Jordan White.
Joe’s connection with people throughout town was widespread. He lived his life for his family and would do anything for them.
Joe had requested that no service be held, he will be buried in Parker Cemetery in Xenia. Crouse Funeral Home in Salem is assisting the family with arrangements. Online condolences can be left at www.CrouseFH.com
