The Illinois Fraternal Order of Police (FOP) State Lodge officially thanked retiring State Chaplain Dan Lovin for his 12 years of service to the law enforcement organization.
“Literally thousands of men and women in uniform across the state have benefited from Dan’s advice, support, guidance and prayer over the last dozen years, and we can’t thank him enough for his dedication,” said Illinois FOP State Lodge President Chris Southwood. “Dan was always there, night and day, whenever there was a crisis or someone just needed a word of encouragement. We wish Dan well in retirement, and pray that he continues to be blessed for his service.”
Lovin also served as Chaplain for the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office and had a 30-year tenure as minister at Logan Street Baptist Church in Mt. Vernon.
