The Salem Lady Cats tennis team opened their season this week.
They finally played their first match on Tuesday against Benton. They lost 6-3. Ingles winners for Salem were Ella Robinson and Maddie Keserauskis with Keserauskis and Lauren Burge winning their doubles match.
On Wednesday, they played Triad losing 5-4 with wins from Robinson, Burge and Keserauskis with doubles win from Abbi Patrick and Robinson.
Then on Thursday they played Carbondale on a hot and mentally challenging day with the singles wins coming from Maddie Keserauskis. Katee Sellers won her JV match.
Salem will play in Benton Tuesday and Herrin Thursday before a tournament next weekend.
