A 43-year-old Milwaukee, Wisconsin man has been arrested by Centralia Police for aggravated possession of a stolen firearm. The handgun and ammunition were allegedly found in the vehicle driven by 43-year-old Shanon Purnell after a traffic stop was conducted as part of a domestic battery complaint against him. He’s accused of striking a woman in the face during an altercation at the Best Western Motel. However, that case is being turned over to the Clinton County State’s Attorney’s office for review after the victim decided she did not want charges filed.
24-year-old Cassie Lewis of East Bond in Patoka was arrested by Centralia Police for aggravated fleeing and eluding police after a chase through Centralia on Route 161 that ended when her car ran into a ditch near Nolting and West Tenth Street intersection on the west side of Centralia. Centralia Police had initially tried to stop her for Salem Police when the chase began on the east side of Centralia. She was taken to SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital for treatment before being transported to the Marion County Jail.
66-year-old Billie McCoy of Seven Hills Road in Vernon was taken to the county jail by Marion County Sheriff’s Deputies for alleged possession of methamphetamine and on no bond Fayette County warrant for possession of methamphetamine and a Marion County conservation violation warrant for harassing an animal with a vehicle.
34-year-old Allen Hirsch of South Poplar in Centralia was arrested by an Illinois Department of Corrections parole agent on a pending IDOC warrant.
