The 65th Annual Patoka Fall Festival gets underway Friday night and continues through Sunday.

The carnival opens at five Friday afternoon.  The arena entertainment Friday evening includes a fun show for children and their horses.  For the first time, a fireworks display is planned at nine Friday evening to conclude the first day of the festival.

The parade through downtown to the park opens activities at eleven Saturday morning.  The theme this year is ‘Books Can Take You Anywhere’.  The grand marshals are past librarians and board members.

A chicken dinner lunch will then be served in the large park pavilion.  The carnival opens for the day at one.  Bingo and the cake walk begins at two.

There is a power wheels derby for the kids ahead of the main demolition derby at seven Saturday night.  Kids need to register in advance.  The gates for demo cars will open at three Saturday afternoon.

The festival concludes on Sunday with a Community Church Service which will be held at the Patoka Christian Church this year.
