Karen Annette Walker Winne, 60, of Winter Park, FL. Formerly of Patoka, IL, died 5:30 pm August 17th at home after an extended illness.

She was born April 9th, 1965, in St Louis, MO, to the late Ray Leon Walker and Patricia (Bayliss) Walker. She married Donald Slayton in 1984 and later divorced. They were blessed with one daughter, Trisha.

Karen was not only a jack of all trades but a master of many. She held many jobs that required strength and agility. No job was too big to tackle at home or away from working on plumbing, automobiles, concrete, and construction. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She relished teaming up with her Uncle Warren to beat all at corn hole. A lover of music, she could be found dancing to her favorite tunes at the local pub, Muldoons. Karaoke nights, watch out, she put her heart and soul into it as she belted out her favorites. She fought the cancer battle like a lion and was determined to beat it. This game of life is one game she did not win.

Survivors include her mother, Patricia Walker of Winter Park, FL, her daughter Trisha Slayton of Winter Park, FL, brother Ron Walker of Ft Pierce, FL, sister and brother-in-law Debbie and Glen Barnes of Patoka, IL. Special friend Sharon Harris Cook of Winter Park.

Preceded in death by husband Kenny Winne, father Ray Leon Walker, brother Timothy Walker, grandparents Lucas and Genevieve Walker, and Milton and Lodema Bayliss.

Celebration of life is pending. Internment at Magassi Cemetery in Patoka, IL.
