Salem Police stopped 34-year-old Timothy Pomeroy of South Main in Iuka while he was walking early this morning on West Warmoth Street. The initial stop was because they believed he was wanted on a warrant. That turned out to be the case. Pomeroy was initially arrested on a Clinton County misdemeanor failure to appear warrant in a retail theft case. While patting him down, police say they found a container that contained what is believed to be methamphetamine. Pomeroy was taken to the Marion County Jail on the no bond warrant and the alleged drug offense.
