Police Beat for Tuesday, August 27th, 2024

A 69-year-old Patoka man has been arrested by Patoka Police for aggravated battery in a public place.  Darwin Belcher of East 200th Avenue was arrested following a fight at the Lucky Marble.  Initial information indicates the alleged victim did not require hospital treatment.

Centralia Police arrested 37-year-old Ashley Scarlett of US 50 in Salem for two counts of deception with threat.   She was later given a notice to appear.

38-year-old Curtis Farrell of East William in Salem was arrested when coming to the Marion County Jail to see if he was wanted on a warrant.   He was…a 2012 family case Clay County warrant.  Farrell remained in custody Tuesday morning in lieu of $100 cash bond.

40-year-old Tia Beyers of North Elm in Centralia was arrested by Marion County Sheriff’s Deputies during an eviction on a St. Clair County warrant.

31-year-old Lynda Holland of James Street in Centralia was arrested by Centralia Police on a no bond Marion County domestic violence warrant.

50-year-old Tonya Pannell, who told police she was homeless, was arrested by Centralia Police on a no-bond major traffic warrant.

25-year-old Lucas Oswald of Kinmundy Road in Louisville was arrested by Iuka Police on a Clay County ordinance violation warrant.  He was later released.

The Marion County Sheriff’s Department is investigating the theft of 150 feet of submersible pump wire from Citation Oil on the Selmaville Road southwest of Salem.  Company cameras show four people on two four wheelers taking the wire at 1:52 Monday morning.

The sheriff’s department is also investigating the theft of several items stolen from an unattached garage at a residence on the Bundyville Road in rural Centralia about a week ago.  The owner has now learned some of the stolen items have been sold to a Centralia business.
