Tennyson’s Walk-Off Homer Leads Salem To 2-0 Trip To Greenville Tournament…Bobcats Host Effingham Today

The Franklin Park Bobcats won 2 games at the Greenville Tournament on Saturday.  Game one saw Owen Tennyson hit a walk-off 2-run homer to left field in the bottom of the 7th to lift the Bobcats over MMS 5-4. Zane Applegate collected 3 hits in 3 at bats including a solo homer to center in the sixth. Kai Graham hit a game tying single in the 4th that knotted the game a 2-2. Bentley Bryan earned the win for Salem in relief allowing 3 hits in 3 innings striking out one and walking one.

The Bobcats capped off the afternoon with a 17-7 win over Greenville. Salem scored 9 runs in the 2nd inning to blow the game open. Jax Schaubert went 2-3 with 3 RBI. Ben Lux doubled and drove in 3 going 2-4. Emmit Gibson also had 2 hits including a double and drove in 2. Applegate and Tennyson drove in runs. Tennyson earned the win going 4.2. Kellen Nix also threw 1.1 innings.

Salem is in action today at home against Effingham.
