Police Beat for Sunday, August 25th, 2024

Salem Police arrested a 45-year-old Salem woman on outstanding Marion and Clay County no bond warrants and for resisting arrest for allegedly running.   Police report Bryttany Hester of East Olive ran on foot when seeing an officer near Olive and Jefferson.  At one point she allegedly hid in a shed before coming back out before being arrested about 15 minutes later in the 200 block of West Warmoth Street.   Hester was wanted on a Marion County misdemeanor warrant and Clay County felony warrant.

Marion County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested 35-year-old James Carpenter of Mason for misdemeanor battery following a dispute between neighbors on Summertime Nine Road.   Carpenter was taken to the Marion County Jail and later released on a notice to appear in court.

58-year-old Robert Allen of Perkins Street in Odin was arrested by Marion County Sheriff’s Deputies on a no-bond Marion County major traffic warrant.  He was taken to the Marion County Jail.

34-year-old DeWayne Dardon of North Cherry Street in Centralia was arrested by Central City Police on a St. Clair County traffic warrant.  He later posted bond at the Marion County Jail and was released.

A Sandoval resident reported a group of around 20 juveniles who wanted to fight had surrounded her home in the 400 block of south Mulberry Street early Sunday morning.  She believed they had weapons.  When sheriff’s deputies arrived, all the suspects were gone and could not be located.
