Charles Keith Newman, a lifelong resident of Richview, Illinois, passed away on Wednesday, August 13th, 2025, at the age of 83. Born on Monday, July 13th, 1942, in Richview, Illinois, he was the son of Claude Newman and Florence (Kemp) Newman.
Charles is survived by his loving children: Becky Wilson and husband Donnie of Centralia; Mark Newman and wife Dawn of Carlyle; and Mary Anne Maxwell and husband Michael of Richview. He also leaves behind a brother, Tom Newman of Richview. Charles was the cherished grandfather to Lesley Wilson of Centralia, Misti Shoemaker and husband Jimmy of Alma, Jill Newman of Iuka, Kyler Lehmann and wife McKenzie of Columbia, MO, Lucas Lehmann and wife Lexi of West Salem and Emily Gebke of Carlyle. He was further blessed with 13 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild who will all remember him fondly.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Thomas Claude Newman and Florence Newman; his brothers Kenneth, Ronnie, Harold, and Gary Newman; his sisters Evelyn Green, Vivian Whittenberg, Helen Clark, and Kathryn James; and his sister-in-law, Mary Newman.
Charles dedicated his career to operating heavy equipment, a testament to his strength and skill, and worked at Schnake Brothers for many years. Outside of work, he was a member of the Richview Baptist Church. His love for fishing, carpentry, and gardening, especially flowers and vegetables, brought him peace and satisfaction throughout his life.
Above all, Charles cherished his time spent with family, creating countless memories that those he leaves behind will treasure forever.
Private family services will be held at a later date.
