A trailer of a semi truck collapsed in the middle while being unloaded Monday morning at a Gilster Mary Lee warehouse on South Wabash Avenue in the Centralia Industrial Park.
The Marion County Sheriff’s Department reports a forklift was in the trailer at the time of the collapse. The forklift driver was not injured.
A driver and passenger were in the cab of the truck sleeping when the cab shook violently and they got out to see the trailer collapse. The driver reported he had taken all precautions for the warehouse to unload the vehicle.
The trucking company, Werner Enterprises, planned to look at the trailer to see if they could determine what happened.
