An 85-year-old Centralia man has died in a three-vehicle crash Sunday afternoon in Clinton County.
The Clinton County Sheriff’s Department reports the crash occurred on New U.S. 50 at the St. Rose Road.
Phillip Altadonna was a passenger in a car driven by his 80-year-old wife Brenda. Reports indicate she attempted to turn left from U.S. 50 to the St. Rose Road and was struck by an eastbound car on U.S. 50 driven by 64-year-old Jerri Sprehe from Lebanon. During the crash, a piece of debris flew into a 2015 pickup truck driven by 73-year-old John Ziegler of Trenton.
Phillip Altadonna was transported to St. Joseph’s Hospital in Breese where he succumbed to his injuries. Brenda Altadonna was transported to St. Joseph’s Hospital in Breese and then flown to a St. Louis trauma center. Sprehe was flown to a St. Louis trauma center for treatment. Ziegler was not hurt.
The crash occurred at 12:38 on Sunday afternoon.
