A late Sunday night fire that gutted several back rooms of a vacant and condemned two and a half story home at 630 North Walnut Street in Centralia remains under investigation.
Centralia City Firefighters say upon arrival there was fire in rear rooms on both the first and second floor of the home. They were able to stop the fire in the burning rooms and prevent it from going through the roof or spreading through the rest of the home.
There were no utilities to the home. No injuries were reported.
All available Centralia City Firemen were called to the scene along with mutual aid from the Centralia Fire Protection District and Odin Fire. Kell Fire stood by at the main Centralia Fire Station in the event of another fire.
The fire was first discovered around 10:45 Sunday night. Firemen were on the scene until one Sunday morning.
