State Police have released the names of those involved in a four-vehicle crash that left six injured on I-57 northbound near the Dix exit last Sunday afternoon.

Reports indicate the driver of the semi that could not stop in slowed traffic was 44-year-old Nicky Whitlow of South Fulton, Tennessee.   He was airlifted from the scene to an area hospital for treatment of serious injuries.  The driver of the pickup truck towing a boat the semi struck is identified as 45-year-old Eric Evenstad of Westby Wisconsin.  He was taken to an area hospital for treatment of injuries.  Both the semi and the pickup pulling the trailer became engulfed in flames following impact.  The chain reaction collision then saw the pickup hit an SUV driven by 46-year-old Daniel Cutler of Mt. Vernon and a semi driven by 53-year-old Josue Villalobos Del Angel of Escobedo Nuevo, Mexico.   The drivers of those two vehicles escaped injury.

Whitlow was ticketed for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.

Both northbound lanes of I-57 were closed for two hours after the crash last Sunday afternoon, with right lane not reopened until 11:41 that night.
