A 51-year-old Kinmundy man faces two felony charges filed Friday in Marion County Court in connection with a July 26th chase where he successfully eluded Kinmundy Police.

John Mulvaney of Holt Road was arrested by Kinmundy Police on Thursday when he was at the courthouse on another case.

Mulvaney is charged with aggravated fleeing or attempting to elude a Police Officer for fleeing the Kinmundy Police Chief during an attempted traffic stop on Orchard Drive east of Wilson Street.  Mulvaney eventually laid over the cycle and successfully ran on foot avoiding a perimeter set up by Marion County Sheriff’s Deputies and Kinmundy Police.  Speeds in the chase reportedly topped 21 miles per hour over the speed limit.   Mulvaney was also charged with felony driving while driver’s license revoked with three prior convictions.   Conviction requires at least a 180-day jail term.

Mulvaney was also issued multiple traffic citations.

During his first court appearance, a public defender was appointed for Mulvaney.  Mulvaney was released on pretrial conditions.
