A 19-year-old Centralia man crawled out of his overturned SUV on the Green Street Road before it caught fire early Friday morning.
The Marion County Sheriff’s Department reports the crash occurred after Joshua Geary of West 4th in Centralia ran off the road near the Brick Hill Road intersection near Central City. He told deputies he had fallen asleep. The SUV came to rest on the driver’s side in the roadside ditch.
Geary was taken to SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital for treatment of apparent minor injuries.
The Centralia Fire Protection District was called to put out the fire.
