Police Beat for Saturday, August 3rd, 2024

Salem Police arrested a 44-year-old Salem man for aggravated domestic battery, interfering with the reporting of domestic battery, and on a Lawrence County no bond failure to appear warrant on a felony drug charge.  Gilbert Sidener of West Bennett was taken into custody after Salem Police traced the source of disconnected 911 calls to a home where Sidener was allegedly involved in an altercation with the alleged female victim.  He is accused of throwing an ashtray at her and using his knee to hold her down by the throat.   Sidener is accused of taking her phone to keep her from calling 911.  The victim said Sidener had come into her home while she was asleep late Friday night.

State Conservation Police arrested 43-year-old Michael Bartley on outstanding Marion and Washington County felony no-bond failure to appear warrants.  Bartley told jail officials he was homeless.

21-year-old Jacob Dickerson, who also said he was homeless, was arrested by Centralia Police on a no-bond felony failure to appear warrant.

Centralia Police arrested 46-year-old Christopher Ramey of East 6th in Centralia on a no-bond felony failure to appear warrant.
