The Centralia Chamber of Commerce welcomed High Point Residence, an assisted living and memory care home, at a ribbon cutting on Tuesday.  High Point Residence Centralia, operating in the building that was formerly Cedarhurst of Centralia, is the latest senior care facility to be managed by Vantage Senior Care, which operates over a dozen senior homes throughout Illinois and Wisconsin. Vantage VP of business development David Lalowski was present to introduce visitors to the administrators of High Point Centralia and give a tour of the building. Lalowski talked about the goals of assisted living and memory care.

“When you look at memory care we think about, what are we up against with the population that we’re caring for? They’re vulnerable. They need a lot of assistance, redirection and a lot of support with a disease that not many people know much about… We’re about education, we’re about fostering an environment where they can thrive and having staff that are educated and trained to be able to care for their needs.”

Lalowski reports available occupancy is at slightly over 20. Information is available and tours can be scheduled online at highpointcentralia.com.
