There will be a delayed opening for the Marion County Fair Tuesday night due to the potential for severe weather moving through the area beginning around 6 p.m.

The start of the Miss Marion County Fair Queen competition has been pushed back to eight pm.  The carnival will not start until 7:30 or 7:45 pm.

Due to the extreme amount of rain, and more possible tonight, those coming to the fair Tuesday night are asked to park at Meador Trucking on Route 37 South across from the Fairgrounds and at the Orchard Shopping Center.  There will be a bus from the two locations to the fairgrounds.  The bus will not start running until around 7:30 pm.

If the severe weather is still in the area at 7:30, you are asked to wait to enter the fairgrounds.

If the severe weather is in the area later than anticipated, please be listening and watching for further updates.
