Fire destroys vacant home in Wamac

Fire destroyed a vacant home in Wamac Sunday morning.

Centralia Fire Protection District Chief Ross Boshera says flames were showing from all sides of the home at 101 South Wall Street upon their arrival.   The structure was heavily damaged and a total loss.

There was one minor firefighter injury.

The cause of the fire is under investigation by the State Fire Marshal’s office.  Anyone with information about the fire is asked to call (618) 322-2954.

The fire call came in at 7:14 on Sunday morning.  Firemen were on the scene for about two and a half hours.
