Marion County Fairgrounds come alive this weekend as fair begins

The Marion County Fair is here.

Entries to the exhibit building will be accepted from noon to six Friday afternoon and nine to noon on Saturday.  Judging will follow Saturday afternoon before the exhibit hall opens at six Saturday night for public viewing.

The Marion County 4H will have livestock shows throughout the day on Saturday, beginning with the swine show at eight am.  The first grandstand event is the Moto Cross Competition at six Saturday night.  Reserved seats are $15, general admission $12 and pit passes $20.

Sunday’s events include the Draft Horse Pull in front of the grandstand at one pm.  All tickets are $10.   The Marion County Talent Show begins at 5:30.  All tickets are $5.  The evening concludes with the Ruby Leigh show at 7:30.

The carnival on the midway opens Saturday night and runs through next Saturday night, August 3rd.  Every night is a $25 armband night for as many rides as you care to ride from six to ten pm.
