Two people have been charged in Marion County Court with separate aggravated battery incidents involving Centralia Police.
28-year-old Haley Nardone of West Warmouth in Salem was charged with aggravated battery for allegedly striking an officer in the head with a cup of water in an incident last Thursday. Police encountered Nardone when investigating a battery complaint. Nardone has also been charged with resisting or obstructing a police officer for allegedly refusing to have her hands placed in handcuffs.
18-year-old Damaneshia Edwards-Westbrook of East McCord in Centralia has been charged with striking a Centralia Police officer in the right thigh with her foot while he was handling a domestic battery. She is also charged with two misdemeanor counts of battery for striking a person in the back with a mirror and a second person in the arm with her hand. A third misdemeanor count of criminal damage to property under $500 was also filed against Edwards-Westbrook.
Both Nardone and Edwards-Westbrook had public defenders appointed to represent them. They were released on pre-trial conditions pending preliminary hearings set for August 20th.
