Jr Gold Halfway Done, Pair Of Salem Wildcats Above Cut Line

Round 2 of the 4 day Junior Gold National Youth Bowling Competition is in the books in the Detroit, Michigan area.  In the U18 boys division, 1334 bowlers are competing for 191 spots to the Advancer Round on Friday.  Currently 5 area bowlers currently sit above the cut line half way through the event.

Carterville’s Evan Flath is in 21st after shooting 872 for his 4-game block and is +124 for the first 2 rounds.  Salem’s Silas Moats had a great block shooting 894 to go +72 for the 2 days and is 46th.  Connor Lunning of O’Fallon is 57th shooting an 814 yesterday and is +56 for the tournament.  And Keaton Gullion is in 61st place after his 832 block to put him at +53.

Also locally, Ryan Detering is at -66 after his 755 block, Rhett Detering is at -175 after his 687 block.  Christ Our Rock’s Rhett Runge is at -310 after his 645 block.

Other area bowlers competing with some work to do to move up is David Lutchka of Carterville who is 168th at -22.  Mount Vernon’s Trace Elliott is at -191 after his 747, Carter Martin of Breese shot -210 on the tournament so far, Colton Martin also of Breese shot -234.  Brody Elliott of Mount Vernon is at -240, Travin Elliott is -262, Jeremiah Barker of Mount Vernon is at -292, Tylor Huegen of Trenton is at -433 and Johnathon Bayne of Harrisburg is at -680.

In the U18 girls division the top 78 will advance after 4 blocks.  Halfway through, Salem’s Elena VanHoutin is in 520th place after a 2 day total of -524 and a 4-game block yesterday of 550.

Vandalia’s Macy Jones is 139th after shooting a 740 block and a 2 day total of -179.  Adrianna Bird of Carterville is at -199, Amber Montante of O’Fallon shot -272.  Alexis Livesay of Hoyeton shot -602 for her 2 day total.
