The Jr Gold Youth National Bowling Tournament is underway with the first day of competition happening in the surrounding Detroit, Michigan area.

Prior to the main event, there was a DV* Bowl4Life Shootout event held to kickoff the week of competition.

192 athletes competed in the Boys 18u Division.  Locally, O’Fallon’s Connor Lunning was 12th overall with an impressive 6-game series of 1281 including a pair of 245 high games.

Salem’s quartet of returning state champs this coming year then follow with Silas Moats rolling a pair of 230 games to finish at 1156 and 59th overall.

Keaton Gullion rolled a 218 high but was consistent finishing with an 1123 series and 74th place finish.

Rhett Detering was 84th with his 1104 and 222 high game.  He was followed by twin brother Ryan Detering who rolled a 1094, good for a tie in 89th.

Mount Vernon’s Trace Elliott was 112th rolling a 1063 with brother Travin shooting 1038 for a tie in 128th.

Christ Our Rock grad, and Oklahoma Christian bowler Rhett Runge was 117th with his 1056.
