It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Jerry P. Onhiser Sr., 68, of Salem, at his home on July 9th, 2025. He was born on November 6th, 1956, to Paul and Betty (Mercer) Onhiser in New Mexico.
Jerry worked as a heavy machine and crane operator. He loved motorcycles, which led to him being a Harley-Davidson enthusiast. He was always ready to ride his Harley. He had a real love of nature and animals, but his greatest joy came from spending time with his family and his dog, Teddy.
Jerry is survived by three sons: J.P. Onhiser Jr. and wife Sara of Salem, Scott Tadlock and wife Kelli of Odin, and Robert Weimann of Moss Bluff, La.; one daughter: Canna Erbes and husband Darrell of Centralia; fiancé: Lisa Williams of Salem; grandchildren: Brittany and husband Clayton, Draven, Stephanie, Abbigail and husband Logan, Madison, Abbigail, Allee, Ashlin, Alexiana, Kyra; 5 great grandchildren; stepchildren: Mikela Williams, Miriah Slygh, Sarah Williams, and Sylivia Williams; several stepgrandchildren; and nephew: Sam Antley.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Paul and Betty Onhiser; and sister: Sue Antley.
Cremation rites will be accorded, per his wishes, and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to J.P.
