Two people pleaded guilty in Marion County Court on Wednesday.

23-year-old Fredi Estebar-Valencia of South Sycamore in Centralia was sentenced to 30 months probation and 300 hours of public service work after pleading guilty to aggravated fleeing or attempting to elude a police officer.  The charge stemmed from an April 2023 incident in Central City where he fled and attempted to elude a Central City Police Officer disobeying two or more traffic control devices.

39-year-old Blake Benden of Hester Avenue in Centralia pleaded guilty to aggravated domestic battery and domestic battery in connection with two separate incidents last year.  He received two years probation on each charge along with 18 days credit for time served in the Marion County Jail.  In an incident last August, Benden is accused of impeding the breathing of a family member.  In an earlier incident last January, he admitted to slamming the head of a different family member into a door.   As part of the plea, Benden had a second domestic battery charge and unlawful restraint charge dropped.
