Centralia Police have arrested 19-year-old Alana Schmidt of Richview Road in Mt. Vernon for aggravated battery to a security guard. She allegedly became involved in an altercation with a security guard at SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital. She was taken to the Marion County Jail.
Salem Police arrested and took 51-year-old Richard Hester of East Rainey in Salem to the Marion County Jail for harassment. Police report Hester allegedly made a threat to a family member via phone after becoming upset about a Facebook post.
The Marion County Sheriff’s Department is investigating the theft of welding leads valued at $2,500 from the Marathon Oil facility on Seven Hills Road in rural Vernon.
The sheriff’s department is investigating a criminal damage to property incident. The occupants of a home in the 2100 block of Maplewood north of Salem allegedly drove up, broke out a window, and left the area.
