Ernie Dale Whipple, 48, of Salem passed away on June 16th, 2025, with his family by his side. He was born on May 25th, 1977, in Centralia to Ernie Lee Whipple and Kathey Jean (Ritter) Whipple.
He enjoyed going fishing, playing basketball, playing baseball, throwing darts, and playing pool. Spending time with his friends and family is what truly brought Ernie the most joy. He is survived by his father: Ernie Lee Whipple; one brother: Carl “Robbie” Whipple (Amber) of Ashkum, Illinois; two sisters: Melissa Devor (Shawn) of Salem and Tammy Engler of Salem; grandmother: Barbara Watkins; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother: Kathy Jean Whipple; nephew: Jessie; and niece: Jessica.
Cremation rites will be accorded, per his wishes. A memorial service will be held on Saturday July 5th, 2025, at the Sutherland-Rankin Funeral Home Chapel from 3:00 pm till 4:30 pm.
