Sandoval Firemen report minor damage in a fire at the Beverly Pingsterhaus home on Hintz Road in rural Shattuc early Tuesday morning.
Fire Chief Chad Parson says upon arrival the owner had most of the fire extinguished. He reports a fan placed in the crawl space to help reduce moisture caught fire. The fire scorched some floor joists and the underside of the flooring but was confined to the area of the burnt fan. Firemen investigated the area to make sure the fire was completely out.
Odin Firemen provided mutual aid at the scene. Due to the rural location, the Centralia Fire Protection District and Patoka Fire were cancelled before responding once it was determined the fire was mostly out.
Firemen were on the scene for about an hour starting at 4:07 Tuesday morning.
