A 34-year-old Iuka man was injured when his motorcycle struck a deer on U.S. 45 just south of Fairfield Saturday morning.

The Wayne County Sheriff’s Department reports Joshua White was traveling northbound when he struck the deer, left the roadway, and was ejected from the motorcycle.  He was transferred from the scene to Deaconess Midtown Hospital in Evansville by medical helicopter with what were termed serious injuries.

White was ticketed for operating an uninsured vehicle, driving with a revoked license, and driving with a suspended registration.

The crash was reported at 5:50 on Saturday morning.
