The Salem 12u won their 4th straight elimination game knocking off Mt Carmel 9-1 last night in Lawrenceville to advance to the Championship series today.

Salem avenged their tournament opening loss to the Aces as Ben Lux was great on the mound.  He went 5.1 allowing just 3 hits and striking out 13.  Eli Purdy and Tanner Purintun helped nail down the win.

At the plate, Purdy homered again and doubled going 2-4 with 3 RBI.  Emit Gibson went 3-4 with an RBI and double.  Devan Jennings and Kash Hall added RBI.

Salem will take on Robinson this afternoon in the championship needing to win today and then the “if necessary” game tomorrow.  Robinson wins the tournament if they win today.

The Maroons had a 10-inning scare to start the tournament in beating Olney, but since then they’ve dominated with big shutout wins over Lawrenceville and Mt Carmel.
