The first week of the Missoula Children’s Theatre Camp concludes Saturday with two performances of Gulliver’s Travels.

The more than 60 students who are entering first grade through high school have been working since Monday on learning theatre and their parts in the play.

One of the two traveling directors this year is Timothy Loosararian who is originally from Delaware and a part of Missoula Children’s Theatre the past year.   He explains how they get children ready for the stage in just five days.

“I think the community that you’re around helps that person that is frightened or fearful build up that character and makes them feel like they are enlighted and have full energy during the performances and rehearsals while making sure they are having fun.”

Loosararian says there is also a lot of work to remember their lines as well as to learn blocking and other parts of theatre performance.

This week Loosararian will direct the show while his partner, Joshua Glover, who is from Pennsylvania, will take the lead role in Gulliver’s Travel.

Show times on Saturday are 3 and 5:30 pm.  Tickets are $5 and are available at the door.

For the first time this year, the Salem Community Theatre will have a second week of Missoula Children’s Theatre Camp.  It is set for July 10th through the 15th, with two performances of Jack in the Beanstalk at 3 and 5:30 pm on July 15th.
