Salem 12u Survives & Advances To Another Elimination Game Tonight

The Salem 12u Wildcats won their 2nd straight Elimination game at their District Tournament in Lawrenceville winning 13-0 over the hosts.  Salem broke the game open early scoring 3 runs in the first inning and was leading 7-0 after 3 innings.

Tanner Purintun homered, Ben Lux doubled and drove in 2, Jacob Butts went 2-3 with a pair of RBI.  Salem also got RBI Emit Gibson, Eli Purdy, Devan Jennings, Dakota Gregg, Isaac Knaap and Kash Hall.

On the mound, Jennings earned the win going 3 innings allowing 0 hits and just 1 walk.  Gibson got the final 2 innings of work with 4 strikeouts as Salem pitchers allowed just 1 hit and 2 walks all game.

Salem will play another elimination game tonight at 6pm against Mt Carmel.

Mt Carmel fell in the championship semifinal yesterday to Robinson 11-0.  The winner of tonight’s game will open up the championship at 2pm on Saturday and would need to beat Robinson twice to advance to the Section Tournament.
