Two Centralia men arrested in connection with burglary to Colonel Pete’s Storage on north side of Mt. Vernon

Jefferson County Sheriff’s Deputies have arrested two Centralia men in connection with an investigation into a burglary to the Colonel Pete’s Storage located on Illinois Route 37 just north of Mt. Vernon.

35-year-old Jedidiah Cody was arrested for two counts of burglary and was incarcerated in the Jefferson County Justice Center while 41-year-old Anthony Winkler was given a notice to appear in court on one count of theft.

Jefferson County Sheriff’s Deputies say the investigation began when they discovered multiple storage units had been burglarized.  Evidence was discovered at the scene that provided leads to a possible suspect.   The sheriff’s department reports the investigation also led detectives to discover additional burglaries and thefts as well as the recovery of stolen property.
