Four people were injured in a pickup truck/van collision at the West Main and Selmaville Road intersection on Tuesday afternoon.

Salem Police were directing traffic at the time due to the downed Spectrum Cable line at Hotze and West Main.

Police report a pickup truck driven by 42-year-old Davieon Harper of Boone Street in Salem was traveling westbound on Main when he hit the driver’s side of the van as 35-year-old Tonya Prior of Hardacre Road in Salem was pulling into the intersection from Selmaville Road.   Harper told police he was confused by the directions given by the officer.

Prior was trapped in the vehicle until the Salem Fire Protection District was able to pop the door of the van open.

Prior and three passengers, 54-year-old Sherry Hays of Apple Ridge Road in Iuka along with 8- and 11-year-old Salem juvenile girls, were all transported to Salem Township Hospital for treatment.

The crash occurred at two Tuesday afternoon.
