A manhunt for an 86-year-old Centralia man who walked out the back door of his home on Webster Creek Road and didn’t return ended quickly and successfully Monday night.
The Marion County Sheriff’s Department says the family was concerned because the man suffered from dementia, hearing loss and can only see out of one eye.
The Centralia Fire Protection District quickly organized a search and within 15 minutes the man was found in the bottom of the creek bed near his home stuck in the mud. Firemen helped him out of creek bed and returned him to his home.
The man was not injured.
