A 12-year-old rural Louisville boy has died from injuries sustained in a Friday night side-by-side accident in the rural Sailor Springs area.

The boy is identified as Caide Weidner.

State Police say he was thrown from a side by side while traveling on Bucktown Lane three miles east of Sailor Springs.  He was transported to Clay County Hospital in Flora and then airlifted by medical helicopter to Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospital in St. Louis where he passed away late Sunday afternoon.

Funeral services have been scheduled for ten Saturday morning at the Red Brush Christian Church in rural Louisville, with visitation Friday evening from four to eight pm and Saturday morning from nine until the time of the service.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Caide’s memory to the North Clay FFA chapter.

His obituary says Caide loved to farm and operate equipment, hunt and fish, play video games, go boating and make people smile.

The Clay City Fire Department, County Sheriff’s Department and Clay County Rescue all assisted at the scene.
