It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Joann “Patty” Kusturin, a beloved resident of Centralia, Illinois. Joann passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 12th, 2025, at the age of 94.

Born on Friday, March 6th, 1931, in Centralia, Illinois, Joann enjoyed a long and fulfilling life in her cherished hometown. She was a proud member of the CHS class of 1946, and throughout her life, she remained an integral part of her community.

She is survived by her devoted daughter Debbie Dillingham and husband Ken of Centralia.

Joann was a devoted homemaker, and although she never pursued employment outside the home, her dedication to family and her homemaking skills enriched the lives of those around her. She was a faithful member of the First Christian Church, Disciples of Christ. Her passions in life included tending to her garden, cherishing beautiful flowers, and spending joyful moments with her family and her adored “grandbaby doggies.”

Joann was preceded in death by her dear mother, Ola (Stater) Hemmerlein, and husband Bob; her loving spouse, Michael P. “Mike” Kusturin; son Michael Keith Kusturin; and her brother, Bill Gaetti. They are lovingly remembered and missed by those she leaves behind.

Friends and family are invited to pay their respects during the visitation held on Wednesday, June 18th, 2025, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at the Sutherland-Garnier Funeral Home in Centralia. The funeral service will follow at the Sutherland-Garnier Funeral Home at 1:00 pm on June 18th, 2025. Burial to follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Centralia. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Joann’s memory may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, as a testament to her generous spirit and lifelong belief in helping others.
